One of the great joys in gardening is the rediscovery (or discovery) of the kitchen. One cannot participate in local agriculture, whether in your own backyard garden, or in your local CSA, without developing an interest in cooking. If the surest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, then this is just another way that your participation in a CSA can connect you to the local landscape and community.
Like gardening, cooking can be like magic. It requires a certain amount of skill and experience, and often a little risk taking and gut-following. Our hope is that your CSA experience will inspire you to discover your sense of place through the magic in your kitchen.
Here is a compilation of the recipes I've collected over the past three years for our weekly CSA newsletters. I hope it is helpful to you as you try to get the most out of your CSA share, or even if you've just stumbled upon it looking for creative ways to prepare your fresh garden veggies.
As always, if you have any ideas, suggestions, or random thoughts to share, please feel free to email them to us or drop them off in person!
